About SellerMargin Tools

What we are solving: ecommerce sellers often make pricing and sourcing decisions with incomplete numbers. A product may look profitable at the supplier quote level, but real margin changes after marketplace fees, payment fees, fulfillment, shipping, duties, advertising, discounts, returns, and inventory costs. SellerMargin Tools exists to make those costs visible before a seller buys inventory or increases ad spend.

Who it is for: the site is built for Amazon FBA sellers, Etsy shop owners, Shopify operators, TikTok Shop sellers, importers, and cross-border founders who need quick profit, fee, landed cost, and pricing estimates. It is especially useful for solo sellers and small teams that do not want to maintain a complicated spreadsheet for every early product idea.

Why this project was built: SellerMargin Tools is created and maintained by Chongyang Jiang, an independent builder focused on practical seller tools. The original idea was simple: many sellers do not need a heavy SaaS dashboard on day one. They need clear calculators, transparent formulas, and practical guides that help them answer one question quickly: does this product still make money after all costs?

What the product offers today: the current version includes free tools for Amazon FBA profit, Amazon referral fees, Etsy fees, Shopify profit, TikTok Shop fees, import landed cost, product pricing, shipping cost, marketplace fee comparison, gross margin, and net profit margin planning. The guides explain common fee structures, pricing formulas, mistakes, and examples so sellers can use the calculators with better context.

Our values: we prefer practical numbers over vague growth advice, editable assumptions over hidden formulas, and useful free tools before complex accounts or subscriptions. Calculator defaults are meant to be starting points, not black-box answers. Sellers should be able to change the assumptions and understand why the result changes.

Our roadmap: future versions may add saved calculations, CSV batch calculators, PDF exports, multi-platform comparison reports, lightweight accounts, and paid Pro features. We only want to add those features after the free tools and guides prove useful to real sellers.
